RECORD HOLIDAY TRAFFIC AT ALLRECIPES.COM
Home Cooks Flock to Allrecipes.com Making Site Top Online Recipe Resource in November
Seattle, December 21, 2005 —
Allrecipes.com, the world’s largest community recipe site for home cooks, celebrated record-breaking traffic during the
month of November. With 5.8 million unique visitors and 105 million page views, November 2005 was the highest trafficked month in
the company’s nearly 10 year history, according to Nielsen//NetRatings. Fueled largely by the site’s Thanksgiving
recipe collections and comprehensive holiday advice features, the blockbuster traffic numbers represented a 38 percent growth in
unique visitors and 60 percent growth in page views over 2004.
Home cooks clamoring for trusted holiday recipes viewed more than 43,000,000 recipes and 3,129,000 pages of cooking advice at
Allrecipes, according to the site’s internal log files. The engaged, active audience at Allrecipes.com has also helped the
company prove itself to be the ultimate holiday destination for advertisers, boasting a 75 percent year-over-year growth in fourth
quarter advertising revenues.
“Our focus has always been to provide everyday cooks with a comprehensive cooking resource they can trust for any occasion.
The record breaking traffic numbers we’ve experienced this year confirms that we are doing just that,” said Esmee
Williams, vice president marketing and partner affairs. “We are thrilled to be able to offer our partners access to such an
engaged audience through highly integrated advertising programs that are customized, relevant and timely. Our partners and
advertisers have always been an integral part of the Allrecipes user experience.”
Building on its momentum, Allrecipes is expecting more than eight million home cooks to visit the site during the month of
December to gather recipes for holiday celebrations and gift giving.
